Tina grew up with her brother Steve Lifford and two sisters, Marlene and Pam. She did, however, experience a family loss at a young age, when she lost her father and brother, the two most prominent males in her life.

Her brother died as a result of a drug overdose, and her father died six months after her brother. Tina grew up in the Chicago suburbs and later moved to Los Angeles.
