Who is Tran Jeong?
Tran Jeong is a family physician who is Vietnamese-American. She is married to actor Ken Jeong, who is most known for playing Ben Chang in the sitcom Community, and mobster Leslie Chow in the film series The Hangover.
Tran was born in Vietnam to Vietnamese parents, but she was reared in the United States. She earned her medical degree from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and has worked as a family physician for nearly two decades.
Ken was one of her coworkers when she met him in 2002 while working at Kaiser Permanente in West California. Before getting married in 2004, they dated for two years. Zooey and Alexa, Tran’s twin daughters, were born to her and her husband. Tran was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, around a year after their children were born. She had 16 chemotherapy sessions and a mastectomy after that. She was later given radiation therapy to help her recover. Her spouse acted as her carer throughout the process. Her physicians told her she was cancer-free in October 2010. Tran Jeong and her family currently reside in Los Angeles, California, and she maintains a clinic in Woodland Hills.

Professional Career
Tran Jeong has been a doctor for almost two decades. She is a board-certified family physician with a California medical license. She is currently based in Woodland Hills, California. In Thousand Oaks, California, she maintains a second practice.
Tran Jeong Relationship Status
In 2002, Tran Jeong and Ken Jeong met at Kaiser Permanente in West California, where they both worked. Ken Jeong obtained his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1995 after graduating from Duke University in 1990. Later, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. During this time, he made the conscious decision to seek a career as a comedian. He started doing stand-up comedy. When his acting career took off, he decided to give up practicing medicine. He does, however, still have a medical license in California.
Tran and Ken were dating for two years before marrying in September 2004. Zooey and Alexa, their twin children, were born in 2007.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer
Tran Jeong’s doctors notified her she had stage three negative breast cancer a year after their children were born, in 2008. Her thoughts went straight to her children. She was worried about what would happen to them if she died. Their lives were profoundly altered as a result of the news. People often overlook how such news impacts family members and friends who serve as carers, as bad as it is for the sick. Tran’s husband was the one who made the required sacrifices on her behalf.
Ken earned the role of Leslie Chow in the first Hangover film while she was through cancer. He was apprehensive about taking the part at first. Since 1997, when he made his acting debut in an episode of The Big Easy, he has been working in the profession. Leslie Chow, on the other hand, would be his breakout role. Ken improvised Vietnamese phrases or words into his Korean character’s talks during filming. Ken is a Korean, and the character’s antics served as therapy for both him and Tran. “Inside jokes” between him and Tran were the words and phrases he inserted into his character’s conversation. Todd Phillips, the film’s director, was unaware of this. Ken described them as “a bizarre love letter to his wife in a dirty movie” in an interview with ABC News.
In the months that followed, Tran Jeong had to endure 16 chemotherapy sessions, one mastectomy, and radiation therapy. Her doctors notified her that she was cancer-free in October 2010. Her oncologist also warned her that her cancer could return in two years. Ken got the Best WTF Moment Award for The Hangover at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, where he celebrated his wife’s recovery. Ken has been encouraged to donate to cancer-related causes as a result of his ordeal. He is a supporter of the Stand Up to Cancer campaign and frequently writes on social media about assisting cancer patients, such as his wife. Ken marked the eight-year anniversary of Tran’s cancer-free status with a tweet on February 18, 2017.
