He served as a correspondent for Dateline NBC from 1992 to 1995 as part of his shift from channel to channel to obtain more experience and build his resume.

Prior to joining the Fox News Channel in 1996, Jon also hosted A Current Affair. He was the journalist that covered Osama Bin Laden’s murder on May 1 and May 2, 2011.
