Draft and Signing of New York Jets
Christian eventually declared for the NFL draft in January 2016, ranking fifth among quarterbacks according to ESPN. He was quickly selected in the second round of the season’s draft by the New York Jets.
He signed a four-year, $4.66 million contract with the Jets, which included a $1.6 million signing bonus.
Similarly, he made his professional debut in August 2016 against the New York Giants in a preseason game. Notably, he completed 6 of 16 passes with a touchdown and one interception in the game.
There were no regular-season games in the inaugural season.
