Forbes was born on July 23, 1993, in Michigan’s state capital Lansing, a National Historic Landmark, to his father, Brandon Forbes, and mother, Sue Forbes. Erin W. Warmels, his younger sibling, is his name.
Erin Warmels died in 2016 at the age of 33 after a long battle with Lyme disease. She was an artist who had graduated from Kendall School of Arts and Design with a design degree.

With an average of 13.6 points as a junior and 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists as a senior in Sexton High, he was named to the Lansing State Journal’s Dream Team.
Though he was not the first choice for basketball teams, ESPN ranked him as the third-best recruit in Cleveland State for 2012.

Spurs of San Antonio (2016-2020)
Forbes joined the Spurs on July 14, 2016, after going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Summer League. He made 77-of-100 three-pointers during one of the NBA draft pre-workouts, which impressed his coach.
The highlight was when he scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Spurs to a 108-82 victory. During the 2017 season, he was named to the All-NBA Summer League Second Team for his efforts in the NBA Summer League.

He was one of three NBA undrafted players under 6’4″ in Spurs history to start a game. His first career victory came with the Chicago Bulls, where he scored 13 points in a 133-94 victory.
