Robin Givhan began her career as a journalist for the Detroit Free Press. Robin left the company after seven years to work as a writer and journalist for publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle and Vogue.
Her career took off after she landed a job at The Washington Post in 1995. Robin covered the international fashion industry’s news, trends, and business there. She also wrote a weekly culture column for the paper.
Her career, however, was not always at its peak due to her critical behavior. For example, in 2007, she caused quite a stir by criticizing Hillary Clinton for wearing a V-shape neck-lined dress during her Senate floor speech.
In addition, in 2009, she covered Michelle Obama and chastised her for wearing shorts on a family vacation, claiming that it would be detrimental to American culture if the First Lady tried to appear average. In addition, in August of 2010, Robin criticized Michelle Obama for her lack of focus in her advocacy.
Robin, in addition to her work as a fashion journalist, has written a book titled The Battle of the Versatiles: The Night American Fashion Stumbled into the Spotlight and Made History.
Robin Givhan: Divorce, Relationship
Though Robin has never shied away from mentioning every little detail about celebrities, she has managed to keep her relationship status a secret.
Robin is thought to be single because she has never mentioned dating or having a husband. Robin, like Shereen Nanjiani, is frequently rumored to be a lesbian due to the lack of a male partner in her life.
The 54-year-old has chosen to remain silent on the subject. However, the silence has raised the issue of Robin’s gender preference. Furthermore, her article on gay and lesbian designers published on September 17, 2013, fueled rumors that she was gay.
Despite the growing rumors, Robin prefers to keep her personal details to herself, making it difficult to determine whether she is a lesbian or a straight woman.
