Dorsena Drakeford is an anchor and reporter for Cleveland’s WKYC. She is an expert in general assignment reporting. Dorsena began her career by working as a production assistant for KTXS Television in Abilene, Texas.
In only six months, she learned the intricacies of the industry. Her career began with a strong emphasis on reporting. She began by doing weekend reporting and discovered a passion for the criminal justice system.
Dorsena left her job as a crime and courts reporter after two years to pursue other opportunities. She moved to Cedar Rapids, which turned out to be one of the most exciting places for her to live. She spent over two years as a crime reporter at KGAN/KFXA.
The reporter was given the opportunity to cover international news stories. She went on to win several regional awards and discover the true meaning of the cultural label “Iowa nice.” And when WKYC called, Dorsena jumped at the chance to stay in the Midwest and collaborate with Michael Estime.

Dorsena enjoys sharing the wonderful moments she spends with her husband in her married life. Why shouldn’t she? She chose a husband who works in the military, just like her father. In 2014, he was even nominated for Maintenance Professional of the Year.

Her words alone suggest that she is having a wonderful married life. Dorsena and her husband have yet to have children. She does, however, have two furry children: a white Great Pyrenees named Blanco and a Newfoundland Poodle named Mars. She frequently posts pictures of her four-legged children on Instagram.

Dorsena was born in New York City on June 1, 1989. She accepts her American citizenship at the age of 29. Her bio indicates that she traveled to various locations with her father, who served in the Army for 22 years.
With her father, she had the opportunity to see various parts of three different countries. The journalist has even admitted that she would not trade those experiences for anything.
Her younger sister works as a veterinarian in Las Vegas. Her parents have relocated to Georgia. Dorsena is more than happy to brag about her family on social media.
Dorsena received her education at Valdosta State University Blazers in Valdosta, where she graduated with a Journalism degree. Throughout her career, her family was an incredible source of support.
