“What’s the weather?” Chikage Windler is frequently asked. whenever she is out and about, just like regular pedestrians. Chikage is the CBS Austin Chief Meteorologist.
The National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval is embraced by the Emmy Award-winning meteorologist, who is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) in the American Meteorological Society. During high school, she worked in the Weather Department at KOTV in Tulsa. Today, the weather report provider has over two decades of weather forecasting experience.
Aside from her fantastic career, Chikage has a lot going for her. In 2017, Austin Monthly Magazine named the beautiful TV weather geek the Best TV Personality.
Even as a social activist, she made a name for herself. She is a member of the Advisory Committee for the UT Environmental Science Institute and volunteers for several non-profit organizations, including Girlstart, Keep Austin Beautiful, and the Austin Parks Foundation.
Chikage also serves as an emcee and attends community events throughout Central Texas.

Despite her ever-expanding career and hectic schedules, Chikage is happily married and deeply invested in her family life. She is the mother of four children, including Skipper, a dog adopted from the Central Texas SPCA by Chikage and her husband, Jamie Windler.
Austen and Zailey are the couple’s two beautiful daughters. Chikage keeps her personal life as private as possible, though her social media activities reveal some of it.
Chikage might have met the love of my life at one of her jobs. Her husband, Jamie, a FOX 9 photographer, also worked at WTHR during her time there in 2015.

Bio of Chikage Windler
Chikage’s birthday is on November 10th. Aside from her profession, she is frequently questioned about her unusual name. Her parents named her after a Japanese actor because she is half Japanese. In Japanese, chikage means “thousands of views or vistas.”
She grew up in Tornado Alley, Oklahoma, and finished her education there as well. She received a B.S. in Meteorology and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and graduated magna cum laude.
Chikage, the multifaceted personality, has won numerous medals for her marathon running skills; her height and athletic body speak for themselves. Even at 44, she appears much younger and healthier.
