Cheryl is a family-oriented individual who spends her time and energy on making her family happy. She manages to balance her work and family lives and spends quality time with them.

Cheryl Preheim is married to Mark, who has a great job in production in Atlanta. They are the parents of four children, three sons and one daughter.

Cheryl and her family have been involved with various organizations helping children with medical challenges since their family went through some difficult times.

Her children had to undergo some unexpected surgeries, which inspired her to create the Brave Conquers Fear profiles to help others in similar situations.

“Sometimes the most difficult year turns out to be the best.”
As parents, Cheryl and her husband have been through a lot. At the age of six, their son, Joshua, was diagnosed with atrial septal defect, a severe congenital heart condition that necessitated a major operation.

No matter how terrified he was, Joshua kept repeating his mantra, “brave conquers fear.” His friends surprised him with a T-shirt with his handwritten phrase “brave conquers fear” before he went in for surgery.

Cheryl and the rest of her family wore their brave conquers fear T-shirts while Joshua was in surgery. And, while he was recovering from surgery, his family was preparing to welcome a new member.

Cheryl gave birth to her fourth child, Joseph, after Joshua was discharged from the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Joseph was diagnosed with a defect in utero and admitted to Children’s Colorado’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for a week.

Months later, around Christmas time, both of her sons were released from the hospital, and she framed a photo collage with the inscription, “Sometimes the hardest years turn out to be the best.”

Despite the family’s difficulties during those years, Cheryl and her husband believe it taught them a lot. They are also thankful that their children are doing well now.
