Caleb Murray: Personal & Professional Life Of Bill Murray’s Son

Caleb Murray is the son of actor Bill Murray, well known for his roles in Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and The National Lampoon Radio Hour (1973-1974).

While the renowned comedy entertainer has six sons, none of them have achieved the level of recognition that their father has. This may be because Bill’s boys all work in various fields. Or, at the very least, their work does not necessitate them being in front of the camera.

Nonetheless, save from one occasion, Caleb, Murray’s one child, receives far too little attention in the media. Examine the explanations for the puzzle in the headings below. Also, find out if he is married, if he has a girlfriend, and what his plans are.

Caleb Murray’s Parental Ancestry Is Primarily Irish.

Bill’s third son, Caleb, was born on January 11, 1993, to his second wife, Jennifer Butler.

Lucille Mary (Collins) and Edward Joseph Murray II, his paternal grandparents, were both Irish Catholics. Bill’s brother, actor Brian Doyle-Murray, co-starred with Bill in Caddyshack and Ghostbusters, among other films.

John Murray and Joel Murray, Caleb’s other uncles, are also actors. His aunt, Bill’s sister, Nancy Murray, is an Adrian Dominican nun. She tours the United States in a one-woman show as St. Catherine of Siena. Edward Joseph Murray, Caleb’s paternal great-grandpa, was born in Illinois; his origins came from County Carlow, Ireland.

Following the birth of Caleb and his siblings, his parents, Jennifer Butler, and the Groundhog Day star relocated to Charleston, South Carolina—a locale chosen by Butler, but one that Bill learned to like.

Butler filed for divorce on May 12, 2008, after their courtship had ended. Jennifer received two houses and $7 million as a result of the divorce (basically, the terms of their prenuptial agreement).

Caleb’s mother was also granted custody of their four sons, while his father was granted visitation rights. They had four sons before their divorce: Caleb, Jackson, Cooper, and Lincoln.

Caleb’s Siblings: Are Homer and Luke Murray his brothers?

Bill and Jennifer had their second son, Jackson, in 1995, two years after Caleb was born.

Cooper, their third son, was born in 1997, while Lincoln, Caleb’s younger brother, was born in 2001. Caleb has two half brothers, taken during his father, Bill’s first marriage to Margaret Kelly, and four biological siblings.

Homer Murray, Caleb’s first half-brother, owns a restaurant in Brooklyn. Luke Murray is the other. He is an assistant coach for UConn Athletics and was the director of basketball operations at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut from 2007 to 2008.

On January 25, 1981, Luke and Homer’s father, Bill, married their mother, Margaret Kelly, on Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas. Their marriage would collapse in 1996, as a result of the former’s adultery with Caleb’s mother, Jennifer Butler.

Caleb Murray was arrested while participating in a Black Lives Matter protest.\

In June 2020, the eldest son of the Ghostbusters star and his second wife was arrested during a Black Lives Matter protest in Massachusetts. He was living in Chilmark, Massachusetts, at the time, and was calmly attending a demonstration in Vineyard Haven.

During the civil disturbances on Martha’s Vineyard, Caleb was arrested for spitting on and biting a police officer and threatening arson. Officials also stated that he hurled a rock through a car window at a guy, Eric Woods, 66. Wood had previously used a racial insult before attacking a black youth.

Caleb Murray, following his arrest in June 2020 during the Black Lives Matter protest.

Caleb Murray, Bill Murray’s son with ex-wife Jennifer Butler, was arrested.

The demonstrators couldn’t stop themselves from causing an uproar after his insulting statements. During this time, Caleb is thought to have become the ultimate focus of the protest.

Caleb allegedly spits on and bit a police officer, attacks sheriff’s officers, and threatened arson after his detention. The court later dropped the property destruction accusation against the automobile.

Murray, on the other hand, was still facing three counts of assault and violence on a police officer. He had gotten into a fight with police officers who were reacting to another incident at the Martha’s Vineyard protest.

According to police reports at the time, Murray became combative following his arrest, biting and spitting on a police officer in transit and then cutting himself and deputies with a piece of his cell. Caleb allegedly threatened to burn down buildings after he was released from jail.

Caleb was facing a slew of legal charges.

Jennifer’s eldest son was first charged with six charges by law police. They were three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, making terroristic threats, and disruptive behavior.

The allegations of making terrorist threats and malicious destruction of property were ultimately withdrawn, but not before his arraignment. The charge of property destruction was dismissed by Edgartown District Court Clerk-Magistrate Liza Williamson because there was probable cause that Caleb was not the one who broke Wood’s window.

The Truck, according to Williamson, was within the demonstrators’ circle, with its glass already cracked. Murray was already on his knees, so causing vandalism or [malicious] destruction was out of the question.

Caleb was eventually sentenced to one year of pretrial probation by Edgartown District Court. This was after his bail was set at $10,000 before his arraignment.

What Is Caleb Murray’s Job? Is He Engaged?

Aside from the recognition he garnered during the BLM movement, it is likely the greatest incongruity that the child of Hollywood’s most recognizable face is a person of secret.

However, the nuances of how Caleb makes ends meet or what his occupation comprises are entirely up to guesses and speculations. The obvious absence of Caleb from platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter has complicated the situation.

It is also unclear whether he has a wife, a girlfriend, or any other information about where he is in his romantic life. Caleb is most likely single and not married right now.

How wealthy is Caleb Murray’s father, Bill Murray?

Bill Murray, Caleb’s father, has amassed a sizable fortune throughout his nearly five-decade career. And he certainly is above simply some affluent actor with a net worth of over $180 million.

From $9,000 for Rushmore to $2 million for Groundhog Day and $6 million for Ghostbusters, the Illinois-born actor’s compensation has undoubtedly increased significantly. The most stunning one, though, is the $48 million he earned for voicing Baloo in the 2016 live-action film The Jungle Book.

The now 71-year-old actor reaped enormous rewards from a cut of the film’s proceeds; the live-action adaptation grossed $966 million worldwide. Other elements that contribute to his wealth include multiple properties spread across the country. He has residences in Los Angeles, Rancho Santa Fe, California, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, and Palisades, New York.

Many South Carolina enterprises, including a fresh market café, Harold’s Cabin, and Rutledge Cab Co., a throwback dining facility, are also generating cash. Not to mention the consistent spending in minor-league baseball.
