Tawny made her acting debut in the television film Malibu in 1983, and she went on to star in the film The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak. She made her film debut as the bride-to-be of Tom Hanks’ character in Bachelor Party in 1984, followed by Witchboard (1986), White Hot, and Dead Tides.
In the 1980s, Tawny appeared in the music videos Here I Go Again, Still of the Night, Is This Love, and The Deeper the Love for the band Whitesnake (formed in 1978).
