TLC debuted I Love a Mama’s Boy, a song inspired by the success of sMothered. I Love a Mama’s Boy is a film that follows the love lives of five couples, but there’s a twist.
All of the couples have the same problem: an overbearing mother. From interrupting their son’s honeymoon to snooping on their son’s dates, these mothers will go to any length to maintain their position as the primary lady in their son’s life.
The show stresses a mother’s bond with her child, in this case, her son, with some scenes bordering on scary. The boys are attempting to date while their mothers are continually in the way, which is no easy task for them or their girlfriends.
Season 2 of ‘I Love a Mama’s Boy’ welcomes newcomers
Tracy, Bryan, and mom Jayne, as well as Tia, Theous, and mom Carolyn, are newcomers for the second season. It’s no different for these newbie couples who have to deal with their mother’s personal life crossing the line.
Jayne is completely ignorant to all of the disruptions she makes in the life of her son Bryan and his fiancée Tracy, including their wedding, marriage, and now honeymoon. Tracy wants to set some limits, but Bryan’s devotion to his mother makes this difficult.
Carolyn’s terrible knees necessitate frequent assistance from her son Theous, whom she expects to be at her beck and call, but Tia, like the other girlfriends, is asking for some boundaries before marrying Theous. Carolyn, like all mothers, feels compelled to meddle in every aspect of her son’s life.
How did the First Season of ‘I Love a Mama’s Boy end? Cast
Season one ended in December of last year, and season two will premiere on August 29. Two new love triangles will be introduced in the new season, which will be followed by three returning trios.
Couples who are returning Kelly, Matt and Kim’s domineering mother, continue to fight for affection, attention, and alone time with the son she adores. The couple was ready for the next step in season one, with Matt proposing to Kim.
Kelly will attempt to take over the wedding planning in the upcoming season, and Matt will have to make a difficult decision. Will Matt be able to set some limits this time? We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Stephanie, Mike, and his mother Liz, as well as Emily, Shekeb, and his mother Laila, will all be back in the upcoming season. Things appear to be equally as tight between the two trios in the teaser.
Shekeb and Emily had a confrontation in season one over Laila’s interfering, but they have since reconciled. The only way ahead, though, is for Laila and Emily to meet in the middle.
Meanwhile, Mike must make a difficult decision, or he may have to say goodbye to Stephanie forever. Stephanie wants Mike to go to Los Angeles, where she has a job, while Mike’s mother, Liz, prefers that he stay close to her.
Mike and Stephanie are in a make-or-break position.
