Tony Mitchell is an American-born professional basketball player who has spent the majority of his career playing in Europe. He last appeared in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) for the Puerto Rican club Leones de Ponce in 2021.

Despite being drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2013, Tony only played one season in the NBA. He ventured into foreign leagues in Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the Philippines after failing to impress people with his performance.

Mitchell had planned to play college basketball for the Missouri Tigers, but his plans were thwarted due to NCAA eligibility issues. He missed the entire 2010-11 season due to the same reason.

In 2011, he chose to play for the North Texas Mean Green. However, his first college season made him forget about the difficulties he faced as a new student.

Mitchell finished the season as a redshirt freshman with an average of 14.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Aside from Anthony Davis, he was the only freshman in NCAA Division I to record a double-double that season.
