Jan Lewan is a well-known polka singer who has been nominated for a Grammy Award. Jan Lewan and His Orchestra was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Polka Album in 1995.

He is also well-known for the financial crimes he committed by endangering his investors. In 2001, he was convicted of operating a Ponzi scheme and defrauding investors of millions of dollars.

The artist defrauded roughly five million dollars from 400 investors spread over 22 states in the United States. He pleaded guilty to his offenses and served a five-year prison sentence until 2009.

Jan’s relationship status is unclear as of today. He was, however, married to Rhonda Lewan Saive, a former Mrs. Pennsylvania. He originally met her during his difficult years in Pennsylvania.

He has two married children and is already a grandfather to Daniel’s son Tyler. His son is a hotel general manager. Similarly, Amber is a skilled cook who has been married since October 14, 2018.

  • He worked in occupations such as garbage collection and carrying corpses in a meat plant after immigrating to the United States in 1971.
  • In 2001, two of his band members died when the tour bus driver fell asleep. Additionally, the driver was none other than Steve Saive, his other band member and present spouse of Rhonda.
  • Daniel, his kid, sustained severe injuries as a result of the incident. Fortunately, he lived.
  • His life provided the basis for Netflix’s 2017 film The Polka Kind, which starred Jack Black in his role.
  • Interestingly, the musician and his business investors were permitted access to the late Pope John Paul II for a meet-and-greet. However, how he accomplished this feat remains a mystery.
  • For seven years, the musician also presented his own local television show on a Fox-affiliated station in northern Pennsylvania.
