James Buster Coley managed a modest restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas in the 1970s before founding Dave and Buster’s in 1982. David Corriveau, his future business partner, was running his entertainment venue next to his restaurant. Both James and Dave observe that the same customers frequent both the restaurant and the entertainment venue.
As a result, in 1982, both companies decided to collaborate to operate a food and entertainment company under one roof. James went on to co-found the restaurant and entertainment empire Dave and Buster’s. They shared a 4,000-square-foot warehouse near the Restaurant before opening their first location.
