Her mother, Elvira Alethia (Green) Wayans, worked as a social worker and singer, while her father, Howell Stouten Wayans, was a grocery manager. Elvira has nine siblings, including sisters Kim, Nadia, Diedre, and Vonnie, and brothers Dwayne, Keenen Ivory, Damon, Shawn, and Marlon. All of her siblings worked in the entertainment business as children.
