British actress Eleanor Worthington Cox is best known for playing Matilda in the West End production of Matilda the Musical and for portraying Janet Hodgson in the supernatural drama The Enfield Haunting.

Additionally, for her performance in Matilda the Musical, she received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. At age 10, she is the youngest recipient of the coveted Oliver prize, breaking the previous record. Her performance in The Enfield Haunting earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2016 British Academy Television Award (BAFTA).

She is the youngest of Andrew Cox and Jill Worthing Cox’s three children. Joshua John Cox and Benjamin Allan Cox are his two older brothers.

She was a student at Liverpool’s Formby School of Performing Arts. She subsequently attended a school in Crosby, Merseyside.

In the dark fantasy film Maleficent, Eleanor Worthington Cox made her acting debut in the part of an eight-year-old girl. She appeared in her first TV show the following year when she played the recurrent character Molly Whitaker in the TV Mini-Series Cucumber.

She then portrayed Janet Hodgson in the television series The Enfield Haunting in 2015. She also starred as Young Janine in the short documentary Nazi Boots and was cast in the recurring role of Polly in the TV series Hetty Feather.

She appeared in the 2016 short film Archway 0173 as Isabelle Greer, a young woman. Then, in the 2018 movie Action Point, she played the character Boogie. She received critical acclaim for her performance as Gwen in the dark thriller film Gwen that same year.

She played the recurring character of Cait in the TV show Britannia from 2017 to 2019.
