Edward Alan Winelandd Jr. was born in Houston, Texas, on June 26, 1984. He lives in Westville, Indiana, in the United States.

Eddie had already competed in 15 professional fights before signing with the now-defunct mixed martial arts promotion World Extreme Cagefighting.

Wineland defeated Antonio Banuelos in the first round of World Extreme Cagefighting’s WEC 20 event.

Eddie became the inaugural WEC bantamweight champion, a title he lost in his first defense against Chase Beebe at WEC 26.

Beebe was declared the winner by a unanimous vote. Rani Yahya defeated Wineland in the first round of WEC 40 on April 5, 2009.
