Channing Thomas Frye, better known by his stage as Channing Frye, was born on May 17, 1983, in White Plains, New York. He was the oldest child born to Karen Mulzac-Frye and Thomas Frye.
Karen worked as a TV reporter and producer. She also received an Emmy Award. Regarding his father, he ran a business that provided advice to numerous public and private schools for a variety of reasons.

Following his selection by the New York Knicks in the 2005 NBA Draft, Channing Frye made his NBA debut. In his first season with the team, he participated in 65 games and made just 14 starts. He did well, though, scoring 12.3 points and pulling down 5.8 rebounds per game.
Sadly, he was unable to participate in as many games as he had hoped to during his rookie NBA season. Then, on March 21, 2006, he suffered a left knee injury and was forced to sit out the remaining league games.
He made a comeback with the Knicks in the 2006–07 campaign after a lengthy absence. Despite starting more than 50 games and participating in 72 contests, he did not improve. He grabbed 5.5 rebounds and 9.5 points each game on average.

After nearly two unsuccessful seasons with the Orlando Magic, Frye switched teams mid-season and joined the Cavaliers. Frye averaged 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while appearing in 26 games for the Cavaliers in the 2015–16 season.
With the Cavaliers during the same season, Channing Frye won the NBA championship ring. Despite arriving late, he was essential to the team’s ability to get to the NBA Finals.
