The WHDH network fired Alaina Pinto, a well-known news anchor after she agreed to play a character in Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween flick. She was let go in October 2020 after it was claimed that the journalist had broken the terms of her contract with WHDH.

Alaina Pinto posted on Twitter about the news that she had been let go by the network and explained the circumstances.
She said how she accidentally broke her contract terms and conditions when she made an appearance in the film Hubie Halloween out of a desire to be open and honest about her predicament.
She makes a brief appearance in the film as a news anchor for a fictitious news channel. She talks about the forthcoming Halloween celebration while wearing a Harley Quinn costume from a DC comic.
It turns out that her contract forbade her from appearing in any motion pictures. Additionally, the offense forced the network to fire Pinto, who had worked for WHDH since 2016.
She wrote in her letter of farewell to the station, her coworkers at WHDH, and all of her viewers:

Pinto concluded her Twitter thread with optimism for the future of her profession. Numerous well-wishers also left comments on her post wishing her luck as she began the next chapter.
Her Journey Before WHDH
Pinto has amassed an incredible amount of experience working on a select few networks before joining WHDH as a traffic reporter in December 2016.
She began her career in television in 2013 by working as a four-month intern at WJW Fox 8. She then started working as a reporter for WVNY & WFFF in 2014.
She worked for WVNY for more than two years before leaving to work for WHDH’s 7 News. Pinto likely made over $40,000 per year at WHDH, according to a study, even if her exact net worth is still unknown.
