Uli Latukefu Cast in ‘Black Adam’ and Reunited with Dwayne Johnson

When Uli Latukefu was about to go to the hospital to treat his eye, Dwayne Johnson called and congratulated him on his part in ‘Black Adam.’

Talia’uli Latukefu has been cast in the New Line/DC film Black Adam, and will star alongside Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the title character. Johnson and Latukefu have a long history together. The Australian native was hand-picked by The Rock to play a college-aged Johnson in the NBC comedy series Young Rock.

Given their past, it’s not surprising that Johnson decided to be the one to inform Latukefu first; however, the 36-year-old was rushing to the hospital with an eye injury.

Uli Latukefu chose Johnson’s Text Over His Eye Appointment!

Latukefu announced on Instagram on April 29 that he will be joining Johnson in the Black Adam. He told a hilarious story about how he found out the news in the caption.

Latukefu was on his way to the hospital to have his eye looked at after a blood vessel had burst during preparation. He received a text from Johnson asking if he could speak before he left.

The Australian actor was still perplexed as to how ‘The Rock’ obtained his phone number, and he was debating whether to treat his eyeball or speak with Johnson. Johnson was chosen over his eyes, and the actors conversed, with Johnson breaking the good news.

Latukefu was ashamed to be speechless after hearing the news, but he expressed gratitude to Johnson and said he was proud to be a part of the team.

Dwayne Johnson’s Reaction

Johnson also took to Instagram to inform his followers of the news. He toasted Latukefu’s achievement with Teremana Tequila, his own brand of tequila. ‘The Rock’ admired Latukefu’s dedication and modesty, as well as the fact that one of Young Rock’s stars was in Black Adam.

He ended his caption with a word of encouragement, saying he couldn’t wait to see his co-star shine on the big screen.

There is no information about Latukefu’s involvement in the film other than the fact that he will appear in it. Black Adam is a spin-off from Shazam! and is the eleventh film in the DC Extended Universe. Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, Sarah Shahi, and Aldis Hodge have joined the cast alongside Latukefu and Johnson.

On July 29, 2022, the film will be released.
