While they are competent at their jobs, the duo’s fighting style is inherently dangerous and frequently results in significant property damage. Nobody can match the team’s sheer determination and fearlessness, despite the exorbitant collateral damage.
Chrno Crusade is more than just an amusing fight fest; it also features the aforementioned gun-toting sister who loses her cool at the drop of a hat.
Dark pasts haunt Rosette and Chrno, threatening to derail the duo’s entire existence. We recommend bringing some tissues with you!
9. Black Bullet
Black Bullet, adapted by Kinema Citrus and Orange, had to hit the target if it was to live up to Shiden Kanzaki’s beloved light novel series. Despite failing to reach the same heights as its source, this short-lived adaptation has a lot to recommend it.
Humans have succumbed to a strange parasitic virus known as Gastrea in the near future of 2021. As if a deadly disease wasn’t bad enough, anyone who contracts the strain is transformed into a monstrous creature! The last of humanity’s representatives are confined to a small city surrounded by massive monolithic walls, like rats in a cage. To stand a chance against Gastrea, superhuman young girls and their partners are dispatched to slay the monsters.
The protagonist of Black Bullet fights with a special gun that damages the Gastrea, just in case the anime’s title didn’t give it away.
Because Black Bullet is first and foremost an action series, the emphasis is squarely on creating absurd but entertaining fight scenes. For the most part, the anime is a huge success!
8. Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
Watching Sword Art Online without Kirito is like watching a Dragon Ball incarnation without Goku. On paper, it appears to be a bad idea, but the experiment may turn out to be worthwhile.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online is a spin-off story that follows a tall college student who escapes her insecurities by disappearing into the bullet-hell world of an MMO.
Gun Gale Online, unlike Kirito’s adventures, is driven by the characters rather than some impending disaster that must be avoided. In addition, there are no harem references in the spin-off.
Games, like anime, are frequently used as a form of wish fulfillment. Players step into the shoes of protagonists who have the power to change their respective worlds, in addition to providing an escape from everyday life.
There is no better time-sink than an MMORPG when it comes to shedding your own skin and creating a completely new identity. Gun Gale Online is, in many ways, a far more human experience than the main series.
While there is some character development, Studio 3Hz does not disappoint when it comes to action! Gun Gale is a game about taking down the opposition with a well-aimed shot, set in a fantastical military universe.
7. Aoharu x Kikanjuu (Aoharu x Machinegun)
While nothing beats a life-or-death shootout between two seasoned gunslingers who are equally determined to see another sunrise, toy gun competitions can be a lot of fun! Aoharu x Kikanjuu revolves around a group of host club members who play survival games to relieve stress.
Hotaru Tachibana’s entire personality revolves around the word “justice,” despite the fact that he is dressed as a boy but is actually a girl.
If an evildoer is committing a heinous act against someone, Hotaru can’t help but throw a few bone-crushing punches.
Although her brand of “justice” appears to be more akin to violent vigilantism, the girl talks a good game. Hotaru loses a fight against Masamune Matsuoka after biting off more than she can chew and drastically underestimating her opponent, and is forced to join the Toy Gun Gun team to pay off a debt.
Initially, the loud main character regards survival games as a waste of time for immature adults with nothing better to do; however, she gradually grows to enjoy the matches and transforms into a devoted fan of shooting opponents with plastic bullets.
Because Toy Gun Gun is a male-only club, Hotaru must conceal her gender or risk being shunned by the world of survival games!
6. Golgo 13 (TV)
Every country requires a superspy. Because the United Kingdom and the United States have James Bond and Ethan Hunt, respectively, Japan responded with its own version, which borders on being a full-fledged superhero. Golgo 13 is one of the longest-running manga series in history, having begun in 1968. The world’s deadliest assassin never misses and can take out his target from any angle, thanks to his countless stories and adventures.
Golgo 13 exists beyond the reach of any intelligence agency, armed with his iconic M16. Nobody knows the assassin’s true identity, whether it’s the FBI or the KGB, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
Golgo can be a nation’s savior or its worst enemy, depending on the circumstances. While little is known about the assassin, it is widely assumed that Golgo’s abilities are unrivaled and that he never misses. A target’s life is forfeited if they are caught in his crosshairs.

Despair isn’t the first word that comes to mind when thinking of a high-octane anime about bullet-crazed young girls, but Madhouse’s Gunslinger Girl is far from cheerful.
The studio’s adaptation of Yuu Aida’s manga is shrouded in foreboding and misery from the first scene. While the bloody action scenes are expertly animated and unforgettable, the life of a trained killer is neither spectacular nor pleasant.
The Social Welfare Agency is an Italian organization that rescues orphaned children from hospitals and gives them a second chance as government dogs.
These helpless girls are trained to kill on sight and become nothing more than emotionless robots who exist to please the people in power, thanks to cybernetic enhancements, for lack of a better term.
Gunslinger Girl lives up to its name by packing every episode with deadly shootouts that leave the anime’s cast psychologically scarred. The gunfights aren’t exactly fun because of the series’ overall tone, but they serve the narrative perfectly.
4. 91 Days
Angelo Lagusa was born and raised in the eponymous town of Lawless, and his sole motivation is vengeance. Every waking moment of the young man’s life is consumed by a ruthless hatred for the mafia family that murdered his family.
Lagusa’s life came to an end on that day, and he intends to hold everyone responsible to the same standard as his parents and younger brother.
After seven years, Lagusa assumes the alias Avilio Bruno and returns to Lawless with a cunning plan to infiltrate the mafia’s ranks.
91 Days is a stylistic crime drama that shows the drastic changes that can happen to someone’s character when they become consumed by a vendetta, with the ultimate goal being a direct confrontation with the evil organization’s don.
91 Days is a film set during the Prohibition Era that delves into a period that is rarely touched by the industry. Lagusa’s journey is strewn with blood, tears, and destruction, as he carries a pistol and is more than willing to pull the trigger! Guns are everyone’s weapon of choice, given the time period and environment.
3. Michiko to Hatchin (Michiko & Hatchin)
Manglobe’s original anime, set in South America and starring an enigmatic ex-convict with a penchant for firearms, is the ideal companion piece to Madhouse’s Black Lagoon.
Michiko to Hatchin is a roller-coaster thrill ride with plenty of surprises, thanks to fantastic animation and a memorable soundtrack.
Michiko Malandro is a hardened criminal who is desperate to find her former lover after breaking out of a maximum-security prison for the billionth time. Michiko rescues a young girl from an abusive family, believing her partner’s daughter, and the two embark on a wild goose chase across the South American terrain.
Michiko’s presence draws the attention of various notorious gangs, resulting in a large-scale war, as she yearns to reach the supposedly beautiful city of Diamandra.
Michiko to Hatchin appears to be an episodic series that follows the duo’s numerous encounters with criminal organizations and the police.
As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that everything in this world is interconnected. Michiko is a product of her corrupt environment, and the anime’s entire universe is soaked in exploitation. She is prone to violence and absurdly hot-headed.
2. Black Cat
Train Heartnet earned a reputation as Chronos’ greatest assassin and a borderline demon after being trained to kill and mastering his craft. Heartnet’s nihilistic attitude begins to shift after the protagonist meets Saya Minatsuki, an optimistic bounty hunter who befriends the heartless killer.
Heartnet decides that the life of an assassin is not for him and attempts to leave Chronos after gaining a new appreciation for human life. The organization, however, has other ideas.
Every amazing act performed by Heartnet is accompanied by a thrilling theme that gets your heart racing! Black Cat is the ideal shounen series for those looking for a healthy mix of comedy and action, with the protagonist’s weapon of choice being a gun.
Gonzo’s anime is full of colorful characters and a ridiculously over-the-top but entertaining antagonist, in addition to the charismatic lead.
1. Gungrave
Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell, blood brothers and inseparable, believe their carless days as petty criminals are destined to last forever.
The friends’ easygoing days are shattered when they get involved with the wrong group of people. Preoccupied with women and pointless brawls, the friends’ easygoing days are suddenly shattered.
Brandon and Harry join the ranks of Millennion, an infamous crime syndicate, desperate to gain some form of power.
Gungrave is a difficult series to categorize because the first and second halves of the anime feel like completely different shows.
Although the focus is on Brandon and Harry’s relationship, the story’s gangster roots eventually give way to an insane post-apocalyptic narrative in which the cast loses much of their humanity. While the latter half may irritate some, Madhouse significantly increased the action after the studio decided to let loose.
Gungrave, based on a third-person shooter, is a one-of-a-kind exercise in stylistic violence and the genre’s pinnacle!
