In today’s world, it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t utilize TikTok. It is one of the most popular apps, with over 2 billion downloads globally. If you’ve ever used TikTok, there’s a good chance you’ve lost track of time and become engrossed in mindless scrolling.
We’ve all seen the viral dances, pranks, skits, stories, and challenges, with each one being more inventive than the last. Have you ever seen people dancing to the sound of a sneezing achoo? Most likely not. It’s the most recent trend on the platform, and it’s slowly gaining traction.
Noah Beck, Haley Pham, Madi Monroe, and Anna Shumate, among other top TikTok influencers, have already joined the bandwagon. It usually begins with individuals imitating a sneeze in response to the ubiquitous TikTok sound, followed by a few trendy dancing routines that have been seen all over TikTok.
The audio features catchy and addictive melodic trap music. But how did the fad begin, and who is to blame for the sound that has gone viral?
Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Dip’ Song’s TikTok Audio Has Gone Viral
It was begun by user @sosawyaa, who was observed dancing to the music and including various transitions. There are presently approximately 141,000 videos under the TikTok audio at the time of writing. Lil Uzi Vert’s 2019 song remix ‘Dip’ has the iconic TikTok sound.
But don’t be fooled: ‘Dip’ is not a Lil Uzi Vert song. TisaKorean rapped it first in 2018, and it went big on TikTok at the time. The rapper didn’t intend for ‘Dip’ to be a dance song, but it quickly became one once it went viral on TikTok, spawning hundreds of dancing videos. The song was linked to the #woahchallenge by users.
TisaKorean told Genius that he danced to it in his music video, thus it’s likely becoming a dance trend. And now, owing to Lil Uzi Vert’s sneeze, the song is trending again, four years later.
This isn’t the First Time Lil Uzi Vert or a Sneeze has Happened TikTok’s most popular videos
With hits like ‘Nuyork Nights at 21’ and ‘Money Longer,’ Lil Uzi Vert swiftly established himself in the rap game. And, as one of our generation’s most successful rappers, the majority of his tracks trended on TikTok. However, the song ‘SideLine Watching (Hold Up),’ which was released in 2020, is the most popular.
On TikTok, the song has over 650 000 dancing videos, including some by TikTok queens Dixie D’Amelio and Addison Rae.
‘Myron’ and ‘Two,’ two of his songs, were also immensely popular during the pandemic, with over 400,000 dancing videos. Coincidentally, the “achoo” sound has been trendy on the video-sharing app before. The #ahchoo craze swept TikTok in 2019, with users transitioning from one scene to the next.
People transitioned from their homes to various locales in some innovative film projects, while users transformed themselves with makeup in others. There are so many trends on TikTok that it’s difficult to keep up with them all, but Lil Uzi Vert’s new “achoo” fad might stick around for a while.
