She was also named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2019. Tricia wishes to compete in the Pro Nitrous ranking alongside her older sister Lizzy. Furthermore, Tricia admits that getting out of her father and sister’s shadow was difficult, but she succeeded.
Lizzy Musi’s Promising Career
She began her career in the late 1990s. From 1999 through 2007, she competed in Jr. Dragsters. She subsequently advanced to the Top Sportsman division, where she finished fifth in the ADRL series in 2013.
The next year, in 2014, she made her Pro Nitrous debut in the world-famous King Kong 5, a 2009 Dodge Stratus. Lizzy is also the first female Pro Nitrous winner, at a speed of 209.23 miles per hour.
She achieved another speed record of 208.62 miles per hour in 3.615 seconds in October 2019 at the Professional Drag Racers Association Fall Nationals in Darlington, SC. Edelbrock has been Lizzy’s sponsor for the previous few years.
Lizzy manages the day-to-day operations of her father’s business.
She took over the operation at Pat Musi Racing Engines after her father stepped away from day-to-day operations. Musi remains humble while handling such a large amount of work. In an interview with DragIllustrated, she stated of her work,
“This is truly a family endeavor, a family team.” I generally handle the parts and part orders, invoicing, e-mails, and so on; my sister and mother handle the paperwork, and my father provides me the orders. So it’s basically a big collaboration thing.”
She does an excellent job of balancing her business with her work. She is committed to handling the deluge of PMRE demand while also dedicating time to her quickly expanding profession.
On the same day that Lizzy Musi crashed, she also got engaged.
It goes without saying that when you work in a field like this, there is always the possibility of an accident. She has been in a few accidents over her career. She lost control of her 1968 Chevrolet Camaro during the Summit Racing Top Sportsman in 2012. She was unharmed in the collision.
She was involved in another accident in 2021. Her car collided with the guardrail during the first round of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings at Darlington Dragway. She smashed her automobile again, but this time she escaped almost unscathed. She even got out of the car and gave the cameras a thumbs-up.
Despite the incident’s terrible outcome, she did become engaged to her partner. More to come on this later!
Lizzy Musi’s Boyfriend: Who Is She?
She is currently in a relationship with Kye Kelley. Since 2017, the couple has been dating. When they first met, Lizzy’s father Pat introduced them while Kye was visiting their shop.
“My dad introduced me to him, and we just became friends,” Lizzy recalled of her first meeting with Kye. He seemed down-to-earth and cool, and it just snowballed from there.”
Kye also appears as one of the drivers on the TV show Street Outlaws, which many of you may be familiar with. Their mutual enthusiasm for racing was also a driving force in their great connection.
In addition, the couple is engaged to be married. Kelley proposed to her on the same day she was involved in an accident.
