When he was 26 years old, the multi-hyphenate American Consultant and analyst began his career as a modified car racer and chassis specialist for the International Race of Champions.
From 1992 to 1999, he worked as an auto race driver and crew chief for Jeff Gordon.
During his time with Jeff, Ray won 47 Cup races and three Winston Cup Series championships.
Ray began working as a consultant for Hendrick Motorsports shortly after saying goodbye to Jeff.
He also founded and ran Everham Motorsports from 2001 to 2010. He later sold all of his stock to Richard Petty and other investment firms.
Ray worked as an analyst for ESPN’s NASCAR coverage in addition to excelling as a crew chief and consultant. In addition, he hosted Velocity’s AmeriCARna in 2014.
