Since the birth of their newborn child, Sloane Phillips, Ashlyn Harris and her wife Ali Krieger have been enjoying parenting. The pair, who both play professional soccer for the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League, have fully committed themselves to their child, prioritizing family before all else. The adjustment from regular soccer players to full-time parents, however, has been difficult for first-time parents.
Relationship Status
Ashlyn Harris and Krieger have been dating since they met at a USWNT training camp in 2010. They sensed something special for one other right away and became friends. They began dating soon after, but kept it a secret for a long period for fear of losing sponsorship opportunities.
After announcing their December 2019 wedding, the couple made their romance public. They married the knot in Miami on December 28 in front of their friends and family.
Megan Rapinoe, Harris’ best friend and USWNT team captain, served as maid of honor, while Kyle Krieger, Krieger’s brother, served as best man, and Sydney Leroux, a member of the Orlando Pride, served as officiant.
Daughter Sloane Phillips Was Welcomed Via Adoption
When Harris and Krieger welcomed their baby girl into their house in February 2021, they became first-time parents. After she was born on February 12th, they adopted her from an unknown mother.
The joyous news was shared on the couple’s social media accounts, with the birth mother thanking them for their assistance with the adoption and blessed their lives with their little bundle of joy.
“Dear Birth Mother, I am writing to express my heartfelt condolences Sloane will be cherished every single day by us, our friends, and our family, we swear. We commit to provide her with the resources she needs to live a happy, successful life full of acceptance and support,” they wrote in a lengthy joint statement.
Following the birth of their daughter, the couple has been posting images of their gorgeous family to their Instagram account on a daily basis.
The Couple Have Now Put Family First
On August 12, 2021, Harris spoke with People on how her and her long-term partner have emphasized their family life in the last six months and the hurdles they’ve faced doing so.
Krieger had a similar sentiment, saying that their daughter Phillips is always on their minds, causing them to be concerned for her.
She did, however, say that having been partners for so long has helped them cooperate as parents as well. She even joked that once they put their daughter to sleep, they gave each other high-fives in the hallway.
Phillips’ favorite solid food was beets, and the tiny one adored living in a “family bubble” with the Summersalt Swimwear team, the two revealed in the honest interview.
