If you’ve ever watched Alaska: The Last Frontier on Discovery, you’ll recognize the show’s main character, Otto Kilcher.
Otto is in his late 60s, but he still has the guts and energy of a young man. Otto is not only the star of the show, but he is accompanied by his entire family, which adds to the excitement and adventure.
Otto Kilcher: Early life and Life Story
Otto Kilcher, born on April 19, 1952 in Alaska, is the sixth child of Yule and Ruth Kilcher. Unfortunately, his father, Yule, died of pneumonia in 1998.
Otto, like British television presenter AJ Odudu, grew up in a large family. He has six sisters and a brother named Atz Kilcher, who co-stars with Otto in the show. He assists his family by maintaining and feeding the herd of animals.
Otto grew up in a small town, playing in the woods and doing farm work. From a young age, he was interested in mending broken things. He still has fond memories of his childhood and family, and he enjoys remembering the good old days.
On his father’s 101st birthday, March 10, 2014, he tweeted that his father used to sing songs and light fires in the house. Similarly, on May 11, 2014, Otto posted a photo on Twitter wishing his mother a happy Mother’s Day.
Otto Remarried After Divorce From First Wife, Sharon
Otto is now happily married to Charlotte Kilcher, a native of Northern California.
Charlotte, an animal lover, moved to Alaska in 1978 to work as a wildlife biologist. Otti and Charlotte met because of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. The couple began dating before marrying as husband and wife.
Otto and Charlotte were blessed with a son, August, at the start of their new married life.
The couple has been together for over two decades, and it appears that Charlotte’s adventurous nature has strengthened their bond. Otto refers to his wife as the “Berkeley hippy chick.”
Prior to Otto, Charlotte and her first husband had a son named Torrey.
Interestingly, Otto was previously married to Sharon McKemie, with whom he had two sons, Eiven Kilcher and Levi Kilcher. However, the couple divorced in 1987, and Otto later married Charlotte.
Otto is a father, husband, and grandfather, as his son Eiven and daughter-in-law Eve have two children: a son and a daughter. He currently completes his family with his sons August, Eiven, and Levi, as well as his step-son Torrey and his wife, Charlotte.
Net Worth and Salary
Otto has amassed a net worth of $6 million as a result of his hard work and dedication as a reality star.
He is currently living with his family on a large homestead that encompasses 600 acres of land passed down from their ancestor. According to wiki, the homestead is worth approximately 16 million dollars.
