Habiba Abdul-Jabbar: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a former basketball player, and columnist is the father of five children, three from his first marriage and two from his subsequent relationships. Habiba Alcindor’s Early Life

Jabbar’s Habiba, Kareem Abdul’s daughter, was born on May 15, 1972, in the District of Columbia, as the first child of her parents. Habiba, like the rest of the enclave’s children, attended home school. She was also a devout Muslim who dressed in traditional Muslim clothing.

Habiba Alcindor’s childhood was marred by familial turmoil. Kareem’s father, Habiba Sr., voiced his wish for a divorce to her mother, Habiba Sr., when she was six years old. Kareem’s parents split their marriage in a religious ceremony at Kareem’s request. Following that, Habiba and her mother avoided her father. Five years after the religious divorce ceremony, Habiba’s mother and father were officially divorced in March 1983.

She continued her schooling at the University of California. In 1995, Kareem’s daughter left Los Angeles to attend Oberlin College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from the university in 1997.

While at college, Habiba supported herself by working as a waiter, housekeeper, and cashier. After graduating at the age of twenty-five, she relocated to New York City to advance her career.

Career In The Entertainment Industry

In January 1997, Habiba Alcindor, Kareem Abdul-daughter, Jabbar began her career in the entertainment industry as a Script Reader at The Wilma Theater. She worked there till the beginning of January 2000. She worked at The Nation Institute from 2002 to 2003, where she handled the production and marketing of Radio Nation. From 2003 through 2012, Habiba worked as the communications coordinator at The Nation Magazine.

After leaving The Nation in 2013, Habiba worked as a Media Specialist for FEMA from 2013 to 2017. Since 2017, Kareem’s gifted princess has worked as a Development Associate at Ryan Health, and since 2019, she has worked at The Floating Hospital. She is also a journalist who contributes to The Huffington Post and The New York Times, among other well-known online publications.

Habiba is also the director and screenwriter of a drama series based on the “Gold Rush” of the Los Angeles Lakers. The drama series’ executive producer is Victorious DeCosta. She came up with the theatrical sequence as a way to blend her journalism skills with her love of creative writing.

When she has free time from her employment, Habiba volunteers at Paper Tiger, a radical media collective. Habiba is also a member of the Sports Fan Coalition’s board of directors, which campaigns for the rights of all athletes and supporters.
