In 1964, Sonji Roi, a strong-willed woman, met Muhammad Ali through Ali’s manager, Herbert Muhammad. Ali was known by his previous name, Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., at the time.

On the 14th of August 1964, Sonji and Muhammad married after 41 days of dating. Their marriage, however, did not last long. Sonji was displeased with Ali’s decision to convert to Islam. She also had reservations about accepting and practicing Muslim traditions, as well as following them.

Reynaldo, Sonji Roi’s second husband, has been married three times and divorced twice. Following Sonji’s death, Glover married Pamela Glover. The couple has three children: a son, Ryan Glover, and a daughter, Shea Glover. Glover died of pancreatic cancer in 2007 at the age of 64, after a few years of marriage with Pamela.
