Jason Whitlock Wiki, Bio, Age, Height, Net Worth, Ethnicity

Jason Whitlock has become one of the most controversial sports journalists due to his uninhibited approach to commenting and subsequent run-ins with the law. He is currently employed by Fox Sports 1, where he co-hosts the daily show Speak For Yourself with fellow journalist Colin Cowherd.

Jason is a media personality who has worked for media heavyweights such as ESPN, AOL Sports, and the Kansas City Star. He is a columnist, writer, and TV host of some of the most popular shows. Aside from his professional success, Jason has always steered clear of the relationship and dating scene.

Jason Whitlock: A Man of Many Off-Screen Scandals!

Jason Whitlock, a man known for causing controversies at work, is no stranger to them in his personal life. Though he is still unmarried, he was asked on a radio show to get married, to which he replied that people who achieve success at work are not married.

He went on to defend the unmarried man, claiming that all the free time a man has as a result of not having a wife and children gives him more time to devote to work. In relation to the subject, Jason stated,

“I believe it will help me in my career. My competitors do not have as much time to think as I do. So I constantly tell people. It’s not that I’m smarter than anyone else; I just have more time to think while you’re worrying about your life and children.”

Jason, as usual, lands on controversies after controversies, and adding one more was no surprise. He once stated that the most popular topic among African-American sports fans was not sports, but rather a white woman.

For a man who is unmarried and frequently seen with women of different races, this ruffled some feathers among his fans and listeners. He even used Kyrie Irving as an example, saying that the champion basketball player should have kept a low profile in such situations when he was partying with white women on a yacht during one of the celebrations. Perhaps it should begin with him marrying a black woman.

Biography, Age, Nationality, Parents

Jason Whitlock was born on April 27, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents James “Jimmy” Whitlock (father) and Joyce Whitlock (mother). The veteran sports journalist, 51, is from an African-American family and has one brother, James Whitlock II, but no sisters.

Jason had to deal with a major family issue at such a young age. His parents divorced after eight years of marriage because his father was more interested in gambling than in settling down with the family. Despite his father’s early betrayal, Jason regarded him as his greatest inspiration. Jason mentioned the good and bad days with his father in a Fox Sports article back in 2013, when his father died at the age of 77.

Career and Net Worth

Jason began his career as a part-time reporter for The Herald-Times after graduating from Ball State University with a journalism degree in 1990, before moving to The Charlotte Observer as a full-time employee. He also worked for the Kansas City Star from 1994 to 2010.

Whitlock, meanwhile, began working as an ESPN columnist in 2002. He did, however, leave the network in 2006 to join AOL Sports. Following that, Jason worked for FOX Sports before returning to ESPN in 2012.

Jason is currently the co-host of Fox Sports 1’s daily sports TV show Speak For Yourself. Whitlock earns a hefty $2 million salary for his outstanding efforts as a sports broadcaster. Furthermore, his net worth exceeds $10 million.
