Humza Yousaf, a Scottish national, was first elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Glasgow region in May 2011 at the age of 26.
That was the year he became the Scottish Government’s youngest Minister. In addition, when he was appointed Minister for External Affairs and International Development in 2012, he was the youngest Minister from a minority ethnic background.
He was appointed Minister of Transport and the Islands in 2016 and served as such until 2018. Following that, on June 26, 2018, he was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Justice.
Humza has also been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Glasgow Pollok since 2016.

Humza Yousaf was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 7, 1985. Humza is of Pakistani and Kenyan origin. During the 1960s, his family immigrated to the United Kingdom; his father was from Pakistan, and his mother was from Kenya. He grew up with his two sisters, Safa and Faiza.
In terms of education, Humza earned an MA in Politics from the University of Glasgow in 2007. Humza was the president of the Glasgow University Muslim Students Association and a member of the Student Representative Council, which was in charge of student politics when he was a student.
Humza’s political career has resulted in numerous death threats. And his family was not immune to the dangers, as his father, Muzaffar Yousaf, was attacked at his home in February 2018 and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. After being treated for facial injuries, he was released.

The transport minister was driving a friend’s car near Dingwall when he was pulled over for driving without insurance by police. In February 2017, he addressed it as an honest mistake and paid the fine; he was also given six penalty points at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
