Ezra Koenig is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for Vampire Weekend, a New York-based indie rock band. He has four albums with the band and has had a lot of success.
Ezra Koenig– Early Life
Ezra Koenig was born in New York on April 8, 1984. His father, Robin Koenig, works as a set dresser in film and television productions, and his mother, Bobby Bass, is a psychologist.
Emma Koenig, Ezra’s younger sister, also exists. She is a published author who has penned “F*ck! (alignlife.com) “I’m only in my twenties.” She even wrote Manhattan Love Story, an ABC comedy series.
Ezra attended Glen Ridge High School and afterward attended Columbia University, where he majored in English Literature.

Ezra began creating songs when he was just ten years old. Even in high school and college, he had a strong interest in music.
He collaborated on several music projects with his friend Wes Miles. They formed The Sophisticuffs, an experimental band, together.
Ezra was a member of the band’s Dirty Projectors and The Walkmen between 2004 and 2005. He had limited success during those years. He didn’t start doing gigs with Vampire Weekend until 2006 when he established the band with Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio.
The band was a major hit and drew a lot of attention from local fans. The band’s debut album, “Vampire Weekend,” was released two years later, on January 29, 2008. It was a smashing success. The album reached number 17 on the US Billboard 200 and was named the fifth-best album of the year by Time magazine.
Since then, the band has released three additional albums, all of which have peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
