When it comes to her family, Donna was born to Rollo and Bessie Terrell. Donna became pregnant with Ivan Habern’s child when she was in the tenth grade. She went to her mother, crying, but after calming down, she decided to have her beautiful daughter, Queah Tecarr Habern, born.
Donna’s parents assisted in caring for Queah during her high school and freshman year of college. Donna also drove her daughter to her classes when she had no other option. But she persevered and graduated from college with honors.
Her motherhood was put to the test, however, when Queah was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 27.
However, Queah inherited her mother’s “never give up” attitude, as cancer news did not dampen Queah’s adventurous spirit or passion for travel. She had visited 13 countries and planned to visit more.
But, before she could travel further, Queah succumbed to colon cancer and died at the age of 34.
Donna was her daughter’s caregiver for the last two years of her life. And she thanked the Gods for allowing her to be a mother to a wonderful daughter.
