For the series St. Elsewhere, he created the character of an autistic child. He has excelled in acting ever since, having won the Young Artist Award three times.

Chad Allen, 45, was born Chad Allen Lazzari on June 5, 1974 in Cerritos, California. Charity Lazzari, his twin sister, shared his mother’s womb. He also has two brothers, Steven and Robert Lazzari.
His father, Ed Lazzari, and mother, Faith Lazzari, raised him strictly Catholic. As a result, he attended a Catholic school.
When asked about his long-ago-made public sexuality, he said he knew something was off about him from the start, though he only gave it a name later.
Meanwhile, when Allen was 21, he was outed as gay. The Globe, a U.S. tabloid, published photos of him kissing another man at a party.
