Brian Tyree Henry is an Emmy and Tony Award-nominated actor whose work spans film, television, and theater.
His breakout role as Alfred aka Paper Boi on Donald Glover’s critically acclaimed FX comedy series Atlanta is one of his most well-known roles to date.
In 2007, he began his acting career as ‘Tybalt’ in the production of Romeo and Juliet. He eventually made his television screen debut as ‘Ben’ in the American legal drama series Law & Order in 2009.
Biography, Sisters, Mother
Brian, 37, grew up in North Carolina with four sisters. He was born in the United States to a military father and a special education teacher mother.
After his parents divorced for unknown reasons, his mother relocated to Washington, D.C. with her five children.
Despite everything, Brian loves and misses his parents unconditionally, especially his mother, Willow Deane Kearse, who died in a car accident in May 2016.
He had a special bond with her, a spiritual bond. They had planned a summer road trip before the tragedy, and she had also been cast as her son’s plus one in Atlanta’s first season premiere.
It was at that point in his life that he realized the true meaning of the word “bittersweet.”

Brian still misses her, especially on days like the “monthaversary” of her death.
Regardless, he has found a way to cope with the pain. He wears his mother’s jewelry and carries his mother and her memory with him wherever he goes.
It is his way of dedicating his entire fame and greatness to his adored matriarch.

He provided his voice in the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and he is now set to appear in the Child’s Play remake.

Gay Rumors
Brian, like many celebrities in the entertainment industry, is vulnerable to unfounded rumors and speculations about his personal life.
He was subjected to various forms of gay rumors as a result of his convincing portrayal of a drag queen in the 2007 play Wig Out, which was performed at the Sundance Theatre Lab.
Perhaps the rumors were also fueled by his lack of romantic interest. Nonetheless, he has yet to announce his girlfriend because he is not married to a wife.
