Ariana Kukors, a former American swimmer who won gold at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships, is one of them. Ariana came forward with allegations that her swimming coach, Sean Hutchison, groomed and sexually abused her as a minor not long ago, in early 2018.
“A lengthy, abusive, and incredibly manipulative relationship,” she described her long-term relationship with her mentor.
Ariana never imagined she’d be sharing such painful details about her life. The only thing that mattered after the disaster was survival.
For the time being, she hopes that her story will prevent other young girls and boys from going through the same ordeal.
