Frey is an American according to his nationality and is of mixed racial and ethnic origin, yet much of his early life’s specifics are not known to the public. On his father’s side, he is French Canadian, English, Irish, and Scottish.
His Parents
Deacon is the child of Glenn Frey and Cindy Millican Frey, a native of Long Beach, California, who have been together for many years. Although his father frequently appeared in the media, Cindy, his mother, has largely avoided it since she wed Glenn. Little is known about Glenn’s former wife’s professional dance and choreography background.
Glenn and Cindy Frey, the parents of Deacon Frey, got hitched in 1990. The couple remained together up until Glenn’s passing in January 2016.

Bishop Frey’s Death of a Father
On January 18, 2016, his famous father Glenn passed away at the age of 67. At Columbia University Medical Center in New York, he passed away as a result of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia. In November 2015, he was admitted to the hospital to have the procedure. The singer, however, never awoke from his coma and passed away in January of the following year.
Deacon Frey’s mother, Cindy, his widow, filed lawsuits against Mount Sinai Hospital and gastroenterologist Steven Itzkowitz in January 2018 for what she said was their failure to properly identify and treat Frey.

Don Henley, the group’s drummer, and a solo musician spoke to The Seattle Times in September 2017:
Being on the road without him is quite odd. It’s just strange. I’m not sure if I’ll ever adjust to it.
But Henley explained that to keep Grey’s spirit alive, his son Deacon will take on his father’s role in the band. He stated:
“I have a strange feeling Glenn’s soul is quite close by. Deacon is standing where I can see him from the drums, and his hair is exactly the same color as his father’s was in 1976. Although he is taller, it is strange to see him from the back.
A skilled drummer spoke with Dallas sports radio station KTCK and provided additional information about him.
Deacon, Glenn’s son, is a gifted young man who appears to be up to the challenge.
The little child is “excited about it and he’s been working hard on it, and he’s going to perform it with us,” Henley continued. And I consider it to be appropriate.
Deacon’s First Eagles Performance at Classic West
The late musician Glenn’s 28-year-old son has always had a passion for music. His big break, however, didn’t occur until the Eagles chose to sign him in place of his father following Glenn’s passing in 2016.
On July 15, 2017, he performed live with the group for the first time. Vince Gill, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit performed on their stage at Classic West at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Additionally, it was their first performance following Frey’s passing.
Deacon also appeared at their Classic West and Classic East performances throughout the year. Deacon gave it his best effort despite the approximately 50k spectators on the stage. And his great performance at the concert while performing as The Eagles’ frontman also got him on a lot of huge tours.

In Savannah, Georgia, the rock group Eagles kicked off its Hotel California 2022 tour. Deacon, who has been a member of the band ever since his father passed away in 2016, was seen to be absent from the stage. Additionally, it appears that Deacon won’t be there for a few more days based on a Facebook post made by the band on February 17, 2022.

The singer was unable to tour with the Eagles, according to the band, because of Deacon Frey’s illness. On their Facebook page, they posted:
The Eagles’ “Hotel California 2022 Tour,” which begins on February 19 at Savannah, Georgia’s Enmarket Arena, will be without Deacon Frey due to sickness. In Deacon’s absence, his bandmates will handle his tour tasks.
The decision to rejoin Eagles “will depend on his rehabilitation and doctor’s recommendations,” the band continued.
Deacon hasn’t publicly acknowledged his sickness, though, until this point. I wish the singer a quick recovery!
Two of His Siblings
Taylor Frey, a younger brother, and Otis Frey, a sister, were Deacon’s two siblings, with whom he spent most of his formative years. His 1991-born sister currently works as the Eagles’ road manager. She joined the group in June 2017 and has remained a part of them ever since.
