The Meteoric Rise to Stardom
Jack Quaid, who was born to famous parents, grew up watching his parents and relatives films. He would frequently accompany his parents on the sets of their films, learning the trade from a young age. He had already completed 10,000 hours of writing and direction by the time he was ten, according to his mother. He also made short films with his friends and family at home.
In 2012, he was cast as Marvel in the film ‘The Hunger Games,’ based on Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name. He was advised during the casting process that he would be hated for his on-screen portrayal of a terrible persona.
In 2013, he had a cameo appearance in the sequel to the film, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ in which he reprised his character. He linked up with Eve Hewson, the daughter of Irish rockstar Bono, for the film ‘Roadies,’ which he funded through the crowdsourcing website Indiegogo.com in the same year. He appeared in his mother’s directorial debut, ‘Ithaca,’ two years later, in which he played her on-screen son. He’s already worked with Martin Scorsese and Steven Soderbergh, as well as Tom Hanks, Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence, Katie Holmes, and a slew of other celebrities.
Controversies and Scandals
Jack Quaid revealed his parents’ divorce in 2000, when he was eight years old, in an interview with Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss for their ‘Allegedly’ podcast in March 2016. It was a difficult moment for him, he said because he was old enough to grasp what was going on while also being naive about it. He couldn’t avoid knowing about his parents’ divorce because he would frequently come across magazines like ‘People’ and ‘At Touch’ in the stores, both of which had extensive coverage of the affair.
His mother, Meg Ryan, was having a high-profile affair with famed Hollywood actor Russell Crowe at the time, which many believed was the reason for her divorce from her husband. However, she later stated in an interview with ‘InStyle’ that her marriage was already dissolved at the time due to her husband’s infidelity and that Crowe had no part in their breakup. Even before the breakup and the rumors that surrounded it, Jack recalls that his childhood was not that of a typical child. While he initially mistook himself for one of the other students at school, he quickly discovered that being born to famous parents was a major thing. Not only were his peers curious about his time on the sets of his parents’ movies, but some of them also wanted to be his friend for the wrong reasons.
