Wanda originally declared her sexuality in 2008, the same year she married her partner, whom she met in 2006.
In 2009, Wanda and her partner/wife, Alex Sykes, had twins, Lucas Claude and Olivia Lou.

Later that year, in October 2013, she appeared on Oprah’s show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, to reveal her homosexuality.
The Hampton University graduate claimed on the show that she initially exposed her homosexuality to her mother over the phone when she was 40 years old. Additionally, she stated that her mother canceled plans to visit her following the disclosure. Wanda’s mother, on the other hand, later embraced her sexuality and children.
