Sarah Drew knew she wanted to be an actress since she was a child. She began performing in school plays at the age of five, and by high school, she was contributing her voice to Stacy Rowe on the animated series Daria.
Sarah Drew worked on Broadway before landing her first major television role as Hannah Rogers on the beloved WB sitcom Everwood. She went on to guest star on a number of renowned shows, including Mad Men, Glee, and Medium.
In 2009, she landed her second big break when she was cast in a recurring role on ABC’s award-winning series Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. April Kepner. Relationship Status
In June 2002, Drew married Peter Lanfer. Drew shared a sweet snapshot of herself and her husband on their 17th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2019. Drew gave her hubby a “Happy Anniversary and Happy Father’s Day” in the caption. Despite the fact that they have been married for 19 years, the couple appears to have been together for much longer.
Drew published a carousel for another anniversary post on August 24, 2019, however this time it was their “date-versary.” Drew said in the caption that her husband had took her out on their first date 20 years ago after exchanging letters, emails, and phone conversations for the previous eight months.
Her spouse had traveled to her hometown before they went to watch the Broadway show Wit by taking the train into Manhattan. She went on to say that her spouse had been her “best friend, confidante, and greatest cheerleader.”
She went on to say that she had struck gold and that she adored him. Drew’s husband earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from UCLA in 2010 and works as a lecturer there, according to the university’s website.
The Children of Sarah
Drew and Lanfer have two children: Micah Emmanuel, who was born in 2010, and Hannah, who was born in 2014. Drew frequently posts images of her children to her Instagram account. Drew posted a carousel of her son and a touching tribute in honor of her son’s 9th birthday on January 18, 2021.
“Hilarious, brilliant, and innovative,” she said of her son, who “liked reading and conjuring up great lavish schemes for inventions, plays, movies, and amusement parks.” He was very nice and friendly with his sibling, she noted.
In 2018, she also posted a touching tribute on her daughter’s fourth birthday. Her daughter was sweet and caring one moment and feisty the next, she claimed in the post. She went on to say that because they couldn’t control their children as parents, the next best thing was to surrender and unconditionally love them. Drew appears to have her career and personal lives in order.
