In August 2014, a remixed and condensed version of the commercial received over half a million views and became a hit. Thanks to Dead VCR’s official channel, which shared the amusing video and encouraged others to watch it. The video has almost 50 million views on the Platform as of January 2021.
The next phase of You On Kazoointernet !’s storm began in 2015, when one of the Reddit users published the video, which quickly attracted a lot of attention and spawned a slew of fan remixes on SoundCloud and YouTube. There were also some reply videos to popular YouTubers’ clips.
The ad footage spawned a slew of remixes, memes, and parodies, and Google searches for the Kazoo Kid skyrocketed. However, no one recognized who he was until 2016.
A Twitter user named @penguin man97 disclosed the Kazoo Kid’s true identity in a tweet on January 7, 2016. Brett Ambler, the enigmatic boy in the blue t-shirt, was identified.

Ambler has used the popular video to market himself after being found as Kazoo Kid in 2016. He continues to publish videos on his YouTube channel playing other instruments in addition to the kazoo, retaining his Kazoo Kid persona and engaging with the audience.
