Coco was sponsored for a surfing tournament when she was eight years old. Her formal debut, however, came at the age of 17 in the ASP Women’s Championship.
She received her first big break in the 2009 Championship Tour after a successful amateur career.
She even won the Rip Curl Search event in Portugal on the tour and was named Rookie of the Year after finishing fourth in the world.
She had a rocky start on the 2013 Tour. Despite having the highest score, she was somehow losing out on the final events.
Coco traveled to West OZ, one of her favorite waves, after suffering a crushing defeat at Snapper Rocks.
