Selena: The Series premiered on Netflix in December and followed Selena Quintanilla’s meteoric journey to popularity, from her early days with the family band Selena y Los Dinos through her foray into solo work.
Yolanda Saldvar, who murdered the singer in 1995, was introduced at the end of the first season. On May 4th, 2021, Netflix released the second installment of the series, which picked up where the first left off. In season 2, however, the producers switched things up a bit and focused more on Selena’s older sister, Suzette Quintanilla.

Suzette’s wedding to Bill Arriaga was featured in the new season, which prompted questions regarding real-life weddings. Suzette acted as an executive producer on the Netflix show, for those who are unaware. As a result, it’s safe to believe that Suzette’s life story is most likely real.
The show’s viewers witnessed Suzette fall hard and fast for Bill, and the two married at the end of the season. The fact that Yolanda was the bridesmaid surprised the fans the most about the wedding. Of course, this made fans question if the rumors were true.
Yolanda was the bridesmaid for Suzette’s wedding, as strange as it seemed. Suzette and she had known each other for a few years before to the wedding, and she was regarded as a family friend at the time.
Yolanda founded a Selena fan group in 1991, and it was via this that she met Selena and became a valued member of the Quintanilla family before revealing her true colors. Suzette and Bill are still married, and she shares glimpses of her married life on social media from time to time.
Suzette Quintanilla’s Life After the Death of Her Sister
Suzette was the drummer in the family band Selena y Los Dinos, but once her sister died, her musical career was cut short. Suzette can not remember the following two years of her life, according to a Harper’s Bazaar interview, while her family battled with sorrow and sadness.
She stopped drumming but kept her connection to music by taking on the responsibility of carrying on her sister’s legacy. She is the CEO and president of Q Productions, the Latin music production firm created by her father, Abraham Quintanilla, in 1993, at the age of 53.
Various Selena tribute performances have been held by the company over the years, including one last year in May 2020, which was tragically postponed because of the pandemic.
The CEO also oversees the Selena Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas, which houses the singer’s accolades and other memorabilia. Other Selena ventures, including two best-selling Selena M.A.C. Cosmetics lines, have been facilitated by her.
She’s also been to a number of events commemorating her sister, including a 2017 ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where Selena was honored with a star. Suzette could not be happier with the way the world continues to love her celebrity sister.
