Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, made a glamorous entrance at WrestleMania 37 in a custom outfit styled by her husband Sarath Ton.
Ton shared a photo of Banks’ stunning WrestleMania costume on Instagram on April 11th. The black latex suit had crisscrossed features and neon green and white embellishments.
The black and neon green top was worn with black shorts and a choker made for her neckline. Her bold look was enhanced by a pair of snug black thigh-high boots with neon green laces. The word “LEGIT” was emblazoned on the right boot.
The athlete completed her ensemble with a black floor-length cape jacket by Jeffrey Kelly Designs and neon green highlights in her previously blue-colored hair.

Bianca Belair defeated Banks in the final
At WrestleMania 37, the SmackDown Women’s Champion made history. She defended her title against Bianca Belair in the main event on the first night of the two-day extravaganza. It was WrestleMania’s first-ever one-on-one women’s main event.
Belair won the SmackDown Women’s Championship and brought Night One (April 11, 2021) of WrestleMania 37 to a close by defeating Banks and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
As she approached the most critical moment of her career, Belair AKA EST was clearly overcome with emotion.
Belair and Banks made history as the first African-American women to participate in a single match on WWE’s Grandest Stage, as well as the first African-American women to compete in a major WrestleMania event.
For around twenty minutes, the two gave it their all until Belair shocked the veteran by planting the K.O.D. (Kiss Of Death). Before the final knock, they have countered each other’s attempts at the K.O.D. and the Backstabber.
On the count of three, Belair became a champion for the first time in her WWE career, cementing her place in sports entertainment history.
Banks became a member of WWE after attending a try-out camp.

On October 1, 2010, she made her pro wrestling debut with Nikki Roxx in an inter-gender tag team match, but she was defeated by the opponent. On January 7, 2011, she and Roxx won their first match, a tag team match against Alexxis and Mistress Belmont.
After attending a WWE tryout camp in June 2012, Banks joined the company in August 2012. She was promoted to WWE’s developmental division, NXT, and adopted the ring name “Sasha Banks.”
She made her television debut on WWE NXT on December 12, 2012, losing to Paige. Banks won her first televised match against Alicia Fox on the January 23, 2013 episode of NXT.
On July 25, the 29-year-old made her Raw debut, beating Charlotte to win the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time. On July 19, 2016, Sasha Banks was drafted to the Raw brand as part of the 2016 WWE draft.
Banks has made history at every stage since then, having competed in the first-ever Women’s WWE Iron Man, Hell in a Cell, Royal Rumble, and Elimination Chamber matches. She’s also held multiple Raw Women’s Championships and was the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Bayley.
