Wilt was an American professional basketball player who specialized in the position of center and is generally recognized as one of the sport’s all-time greats. He was a member of the National Basketball Association’s Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers (NBA).
Before entering the NBA, Wilt Chamberlain played for the University of Kansas and the Harlem Globetrotters. As a rookie, Chamberlain stood 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and weighed 250 pounds (110 kg), before raising his weight to 275 pounds (125 kg) and eventually over 300 pounds (140 kg) with the Lakers.
