Yasmani Copello was born in Cuba on April 15, 1987. While competing in international events, he wears the Turkish flag on his chest.

Cuba Copello began competing in national events as a teenager in 2006. He finished fourth in the Cuban Athletics Championship and fifth in the OlimpiadaCubana.
