Early Life
William Roache was born as William Patrick “Bill” Roache on April 25, 1932. He was born to Hester Vera (nee Waddicor) and Joseph William Vincent Roache in Basford, Nottingham, England. He is 89 years old right now.
He was born and raised in the English town of Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He also joined the British Army when he was 21 years old. In 1953, he joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and was given a commission. Roache was a captain when he left the British Army in 1956. He went to a school that his grandfather had started. Then he went to Rydal School, where his older son also went.

When his second wife died, he went out with Emma Jesson, who was 36 years younger than Roache. In 2010, they started dating, and in 2013, they broke up.
Both of Roche’s daughters died way too young. In 1963, when Edwina was 18 months old, she got sick and died. Vanya also died at age 50 of liver failure in 2018. Both of his sons now work as performers, and his daughter Verity is an interior designer.
