Vicente Luque was born in Westwood, New Jersey, on November 15, 1991. He was born in Chile to Pepe Luque, a Chilean father, and Maria Aparecida, a Brazilian mother.

His grandmother worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brazil. Her job required her to relocate frequently. She and her daughter, Maria, relocated to Chile from Brazil.

Vicente Luque learned various forms of martial arts as a child. During his adolescence, he also studied Muay Thai, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu.

Similarly, on October 28, 2017, Luque faced American Top Team’s Niko Price at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Bruno. He was hired on 11-day notice to replace Luan Chagas, who was injured.
