American television meteorologist Tom Skilling has worked for WGN-TV in Chicago for 43 years. However, the locals’ favorite TV meteorologist has kept his love interest and relationship status a secret for a number of years.
Is He Married?
Whether Sikilling is married or not is still a mystery. Although his personal life is completely hidden from view, his professional life is an open book.
According to a 2016 article in a magazine, Skilling stated,
I’ve been married to my work my whole life. I say that to people and I know they don’t quite understand it and think I’m kidding or exaggerating. But no, it really has been my life.
The 69-year-old is still unmarried, and it is uncertain whether he will ever get romantically involved.
Additionally, because he has kept his personal life private, his followers have long been inquisitive about his sexual orientation. The rumors that he was gay have been circulating for a while, and a tweet from Jeff Coen in which Skilling is seen attending the Pride Parade undoubtedly fueled the rumors. The allegation is unfounded, though, and his sexual orientation is currently a mystery.
Tom Skilling Career, Net Worth
Surprisingly, Sikilling began working at WKKD in Aurora, Illinois, when he was just 14 years old and a student at West Aurora High School.
The newcomer, who had worked for WKKD for three years, joined WLXT-TV while continuing to attend classes during the day.
Later in 1970, he pursued a degree in journalism and meteorology.
The University of Wisconsin-top Madison’s student continued to study while appearing on radio and television.
Early in his career, from 1975 and 1978, he was ranked as Milwaukee’s top meteorologist. That did play a significant part in his rising fame.
Sikilling reportedly agreed to a ten-year contract extension in the year 2012.
According to the headlines, Sikilling agreed to stay on at Chicago’s WGN till the year 2022.
And sure enough, he is currently living the good life with a staggering net worth of $15 million, according to a source, and is rumored to be the highest-paid weather reporter in the industry.
