American-Filipina ballerina Stella Abrera gained notoriety for her impressive ballet dancing. After joining the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), one of the top classical ballet companies in the USA, she began her professional ballet dancing career in 1996.
She initially joined the Corps de Ballet in May 1996 before being promoted to Soloist in August 2001. She then became the first Filipina ballerina to be hired as the main dancer at the American Ballet Theatre in August 2015.
She competed in the 1995 Adeline Genée Awards of the Royal Academy of Dance, which was held in London, where she took home a gold prize.

Stella Abrera was born in Manila, Philippines, on June 8, 1978.
She began her education at Le Studio in Pasadena, where Cynthia Young and Philip and Charles Fuller taught lessons. After that, she studied under Patricia Hoffman and Lorna Diamond at West Coast Ballet Theatre in San Diego.
She has also studied the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus under Joan and Monica Halliday at the Halliday Dance Centre in Sydney.
She is five feet six inches tall (1.68 meters).
Her Family Life
Jack and Aurora Abrera brought up Stella Abrera. She is the youngest of her parents’ four children, one of whom is Luz, her sister who is 17 years older.
Her father is a civil engineer who was required to travel because of his employment in various locations. And like his father before him, so did her family. When she was 4 years old, her family relocated from the Philippines to South Pasadena, California.
After three years, they relocated once more to Australia before deciding to settle down once more in the US.
Stella Abrera’s Married Life, Husband
Sascha Radetsky, a dancer and actor from Santa Cruz, is married to Stella Abrera. On July 22, 2006, the couple exchanged marriage vows after nine years of dating.
They initially met in 1996 at the American Ballet Theatre, where Sascha was already a company member and Stella was there to perform an audition. Sascha fell in love with Stella when his eyes dropped and he saw her, but it was difficult for him to make small talk with her.
Sascha admitted that he tried to flirt with Stella but it took him a few years to do so in an interview with dancemagazine.com. But he never gave up; eventually, he was able to win her over. Since that time, the pair have never parted.
Additionally, they have given the American Ballet Theatre numerous ballet dance performances as a couple.
Life As A Ballerina
After her older sister Luz enrolled her in ballet training, Stella Abrera’s career as a ballerina began. Due to her father’s occupation, she then enrolled in numerous ballet classes at various locations.
Later, she started to feel a connection to ballet, which over time evolved into a passion. She began pursuing her passion when she joined the American Ballet Theatre in 1996.
She quickly attained both professional and dancer status. After that, Mary Jo and Ted Shen began supporting her performances. She was even listed as one of “25 to Watch” on the cover of Dance Magazine in January 2004.
In addition to Apollo, Don Quixote, Dim Lustre, The Bright Stream, Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, Daphnis and Chloe, and The Dream, she has performed in other plays for the American Ballet Theatre.
But when she became 30, she experienced a back injury and sciatic nerve problem that made it difficult for her to walk. She returned to the stage after making a full recovery from the wound.
However, on October 21, 2019, Stella stated via her Instagram account that she would be leaving the American Ballet Theatre after more than 24 years of service on June 13, 2020.
